I’ve gotten some requests to put up more sniping videos, so here is a TDM match on Invasion. Invasion can be somewhat challenging as a sniper, as a lot of the map lends itself more to close range combat. Here you see me swap between my sniper rifle and secondary handgun, depending on the situation.

Kat – nice post. I have a question for you. I havent been playing the game too awful long, maybe a month now. I am up to a 40 level and i am in the 10-15 killzone most of the time. I feel like i know the maps pretty well now but i find myself switching classes alot just to see what helps. My question is, what do you suggest for someone like me to do moving forward? Should i keep experimenting, or should i find a certain gun to master and move on? I obviously dont have everything unlocked but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
You just now finally commented on how you always shoot coming out of a chopper gunner/ac-130. LOL…you do it everytime!
not hatin’…i think it is funny. thanks for posting. keep it up.
Have you found a gun and playstyle you are comfortable with? For new players, learning the mechanics of the game is probably the most important, so I would suggest keeping as many variables constant if possible while learning things like spawn systems, map knowledge and situational awareness. Your key is to learn these things as quickly as possible, because they are beneficial regardless of the gun or playstyle you are using. And by limiting the amount of variables, you will hopefully pick up on these essentials faster. Then once you have the fundamentals, branch out and experiment with other guns…and add variety and diversity to your play style. So first find a gun and playstyle you’re comfortable with, learn the fundamentals, then branch out of your comfort zone.
thanks for the tips. Basically im using the Scar Primary and Raffica secondary with either frags or claymores. I have about everything unlocked for the Scar. My play style is pry a slow run and gun, so more of a jog and shoot if you will. I tend to go from building to building and not elevate much. I feel to vulnerable in high places. Would it be beneficial to go a week with the raffica and get stuff unlocked and then have myself a solid 1-2 punch? I guess like you said, mechanics will need to be mastered before the guns actually make that much of a difference huh? Thanks again
It depends, are you looking for a specific attachment for the raffica? I wouldn’t recommend using it like a primary just to unlock stuff for it, but you can always try using last stand since you pull out the rafficas in last stand. It’s dreadfully slow to switch to though…so you may not get much of a chance to use them lol. Just try to be more conscious of your secondary weapon and switch to it when it makes sense to. If you’re still in a dangerous area and your scar is low on ammo or you don’t have time to reload. Or if you find yourself behind a enemy, free raffica kills lol
I always fire my gun while coming out of a chopper gunner or ac-130. It’s cuz I keep my finger on that fire button like my life depended on it :p that and I never know when to expect it to end heh
no nothing specific for the raffica, i just dont know what else to use for a secondary since i barely use it and i dont have much unlocked. I was wondering, my kill ranks and score are in the 4 million something yada yada. Are you willing to share what yours are?
last I checked, I’m ranked like 34000 or something in terms of kills…not sure since I’m at work at the moment lol
the m93 raffica feels very much like a primary to me…if you run out of ammo a lot in the middle of an encounter since the scar h has such a small clip, you can try a handgun since they swap out really fast. If you find yourself struggling in short range encounters, if you fail at knifing like me, maybe a shotgun would work…lots of raw power…like the aa-12 or something.
Dang thats salty. I think i might try a shotgun secondary since it will pry benefit my style better. Thanks and keep up the vids, i think i learn as much from them as i do playing. Much appreciated.
Just my 2 cents @Trey:
The AA-12 is absolutely nasty, and having it as a back-up even as you start out can’t hurt (helps you lock extended mags quicker, which makes it all the more nasty). If you’re run&gun and don’t play defensively, you might want to switch off the Scar. Great power, but does not compare at close range to, e.g., the Tar21, and the small clip doesn’t help matters if you need to spray.
That being said, the Raffica is a fine choice at close and short-med range. I like to match either that or the PP2000 up with a primary that lacks a good mid-range like a sniper. If you’re already using an assault rifle, though, I don’t think you can go wrong with the AA-12 or SPAS if you can deal with the pump action.
hey what do u think is a better sniper wa2000 or the m21 ebr i personally used the wa2000 and had some succes with it but i just picked up the m21 ebr and for some reason dont do good with it…
Yes, the AA-12 is a GREAT shotgun, it gives you a lot of room for error, which is great if your aim isnt great, like me LOL.
I personally like the WA2000 more, but the M21 is great silenced with cold-blooded. Its going to be a 2-hit kill anyways, so might as well be invisible while doing it =p
I notice you use USP 45 akimbo, which I used on my last prestige, but for ease of obtainment (using First Recon to get kills), I’ve now switched to Magnum akimbo. Do you prefer USPs for any reason?
I used to play a lot with Magnum akimbo but it can be a bit hit or miss, since it has a very small clip size. The USP’s are just a bit less powerful, but are very accurate and easy to use. And since you’re using it akimbo, you’re not going to be using it for mid-long range kills, so the damage doesn’t really affect it much.
